Paramount has announced that Star Trek 2, the movie sequel to Star Trek, will be released on June 29th, 2012 release date for Star Trek 2!
So we can be sure that the movie Star Trek 2 will be one of the blockbuster of Summer 2012. For my part I'd go stand in line to buy a Star Trek 2 movie ticket right now i they were already on sale!
Should we consider this deleted scene of Star Trek as hint at the next villains in Star Trek 2?
Well, if the Klingons show up in Star Trek 2 I'd be quite glad!

"With a franchise rebirth, the first movie has to be about origin. But with a second, you have the opportunity to explore incredibly exciting things. We'll be ambitious about what we'll do."
Scriptwriter Roberto Orci appreciates how the film has been positively received by the public, and understands that they got more freedom for what to do in Star Trek 2 as a result:
We have agreed to write another one. We're going to start thinking about it any second now. But we're still just having a mental sorbet before we jump back in. And, you know, just seeing all the reactions to the movie. We want to make sure we take it all in and really figure out what worked and what didn't and proceed from there. But now that we have... an open canvas, ... anything can happen."
Those two dudes brought a real new blood to the Star Trek franchise. And under the direction of J.J. Abrams the first Star Trek movie was close to be a masterpiece.
The timeline has been indeed been changed. So I hope they will seize the opportunity to mark Star Trek with their genius touch again: please ignore the angry old Star Trek fans, we don't want our grandfather's Star trek anymore, no need of William Shatner: just continue on your good track for the movie Star Trek 2!
For now we may expect the movie Star trek 2 to be released in 2012.
